Circles
As the moon circles the earth, I circle,
As the moon follows the sun, I follow,
Around and around the centroid I go:
We the twin orbs hov'ring high in the sky
Always chasing each other as we fly
Across the celestial heavens we soar,
In this journey our energies we pour,
Cyclical and balanced will be our tour,
This pattern of day and night to adore,
In beauteous, graceful dance forevermore.
They would like to take their respective paths,
As they respectively did in their pasts,
When they were free, separate, their bond lax,
Before discovering this force that attracts,
Binding the pair together in tight pacts,
Synergized along centrifugal tracts.
But the attraction they feel is too great,
That even as they go, they two rotate,
In paths of celestial circles gyrate,
So to eternity lie in stalemate.
And thus now entwined both paths must abate,
Associates, attached, such pairs must relate:
That pull you affect I must satiate;
One desires, yet cannot emancipate;
That result of the stars is naught but fate.
Balance neither wishes to eradicate
Brings to us both command of more strength, weight,
Leaving you and I dancing in circles.
Through space the sharp compass's edge doth flows,
Endlessly piercing heart-rending circles.
The heart of the compass circle makes no shows,
But as the two bodies trace along their pose,
Circle after circle the two-point throws.
Encircled in its effects all my woes;
Encompassed in its depth be all my prose.
A circle is but halves, each other knows;
Yet alone we have two halves and no wholes;
So along the arc rush these half-circles:
Round, up one goes, down the other follows;
Yet one follows down, up the other goes,
So thus through this greatest of miracles,
From the love of both are born two circles,
Outside, inside, yet together, touching,
Their purity and precision pulsing,
Their sleek and streamlined shape scintillating.
In the center of my circle is your circle;
In the center of your circle is my circle;
In the heart of your heart is my heart;
In the heart of my heart is your heart;
The circle of yours is the heart of mine;
The heart of yours is the circle of mine;
Our perfect heart in our perfect circle,
Our bind having now reached the pinnacle,
We revolve endlessly for time eternal:
Full circle.
