The Blight Grass are blackish, sooty and spotty grasses that generally reach to about four inches in height. They attempt to cover an area, but they only manage to exist in clusters and patches, while the herbicidal toxins that they place into the soil prevent other species of plants from filling in the gaps, giving the impression that the entire land is diseased, even though it may not be. Blight Grass cannot compete with any other species of grass without its toxin (as it spends a significant amount of its energy producing the toxin). Where waters are common, these toxins are washed away, and the blight grass is outcompeted by other varieties of grass which can then compete. Hence, blight grass are generally found in drier places.

Historically, there have been attempts at blight grass eradication, but these have generally been unsuccessful.
